Editing so far...

Editing so far is looking good!!! Will be even better as we begin to shoot and edit shots including Kirsty. Paddy seems to be very comfortable with using the software and it hasn't taken him long to get into full swing and our video is coming together well. The shots we decided to use are very effective and we have used wide ranges of types of shots, which we have tried to disperse equally through the video. We have also decided to include opening credits to give that classic movie opening feel.

Final Task- 3rd Day filming

We were all prepared to complete our last day of filming, including Kirsty for the first shots; we made sure we had everything we needed such as; props, warm clothing, batteries, camera, fake blood etc. but today unfortunately the weather is forecast to rain and potentially snow and it has been raining all day, to keep with the continuity of our film opening as the weather wasnt this bad the previous 2 days; we made a group agreement that it wouldn't be right to film today. We are planning to continue in the next few 

days.

Final Task- Second day of filming

Our second day of filming was better than the first, a lot better in fact.  On the first day, Ben struggled to take the acting seriously on camera but today we saw a huge improvement in his acting. However, we were struck by disaster in that we had accidentally left one major prop back at home which effected time and resulted in some shots taken without the prop had to be re-done, and then the batteries in the cameras gave out so Paddy had to go out and buy some more, fortunately we only lost around 15 minutes of potential filming time. Tomorrow we will be filming with Kirsty for the first time.

Final Task- Decisions with editing

Yesterday as cameraman I took our first shots just with Ben on screen, although when we were out shooting, we realised that we were speaking about ways in which it would look good e.g effects or saturation and what, when editing, would improve the shots, also what we could add in. So we decided to edit as we go. We have already started editing our first couple of shots of Ben entering the park and at the moment it is looking great, and we are already looking as copyright free audio soundtracks to include in it. To edit we are using a software called ' Final cut pro' on an Apple mac. We will be going out on our second filming this afternoon, and hopefully be editing that footage tomorrow, and so on.

Final Task- First day of filming review

Today we started filming, and it did not go that well. We had problems with lighting, as within the space of an hour it went from broad daylight to very dark. We also had problems with getting into the ominous mood of the scene with so many passers-by. It was also absolutely freezing and many shots had to be retaken quite a lot of times. Hopefully next time (tomorrow) goes better and smoother. I feel like the shots we took were quite successful though and we got parts done quick as I was trying to organise the group as best as possible directing Ben most of the time and taking all camera shots, them two aspects ran smoothly (camera work and directing)

Mock Week

Filming will start next week as we have mock exams this week therefore for now we aren't too focused on the final planning stages or beginning our filming, except we are all looking forward to day one of filming!
